Bitehouse Foragers Dinner

On Saturday, October 4, 2025 we are gathering at the St. Ann’s Bay United Church once again to learn about fungi, foraging and eat an amazing 5 course meal with Bryan Picard of Bitehouse. I will be bringing the fungi specimens to you once again! This way, folks with mobility issues can learn all about common fungi found on Cape Breton Island without having to hike for a couple hours to see it.

I will get as many interesting species as I can, both edible and non-edible, discuss aspects that aid in identification, talk about how I cook and preserve fungi, and answer any questions I can about our most common mushrooms and jellies.

The theme of this dinner party is foraging, so you will enjoy a menu heavily focused around fungi but also including a variety of wild plants. Our beverages will also be of a wild nature. Menus will be shared with participants closer to the event.
